The years stack up so fast, don’t they? We don’t know what to do with this ominous weird space, but I use this time in between Christmas and the new year for reflection and eating copious amounts of carbs and cheese. It is the in between: we live in old habits that must die while we make goals for the year.
It is hilarious and weird but Humans can’t help themselves! Even amidst skepticism and everyone telling us New Years resolutions are dumb—we still hope. You can’t make humanity stop hoping no matter what statistics and doom you throw their way.
So Here’s what I want to know: is there a moment you feel like you really lived this year? You smiled, you laughed, you dreamed, you wondered? What’s that moment? It can be the smallest or the biggest but I want to know what it was for you. This year I promise to do more of what made me show my teeth. The ugly cries, the big grins, the gasps. I’m here for the roaring 2020’s.
