This is One of the unique ways @africanewlife connects their sponsors to families—To be welcomed into their home, with smiles and hugs.
I get to sponsor Emmanuel, who is 16 and in 6th grade. (He is different from the Emmanuel we met the other day).
But Do you think God is trying to tell me something ?
GOD IS WITH US, even in the difficult and uncomfortable. Anyway, I took a liking to Vivian , Emmanuel’s mother. I am sure my smile shows it. “Pay attention to who you’re with when you’re smiling,” someone said once. And of course I had to google Vivian’s name too, which means LIFE. She has seen hardship but there was so much life in her eyes. And that’s what I felt when I was with them. God was dwelling in the flesh in their hospitality and there was Life in this home and in their children. I am so happy to partner with an organization who is all about sustainable programs that focus on basic needs like food and water , but also on Jesus .
This is their hope and It is mine too. I saw the bags of food go into their home. I saw the child in the school. I saw the life being changed in front of me. And now you see it too—the children who walk to school 2-3 hours every day.
What starvation and malnutrition look like, they are Clarise and Emmanuel, and Dorkus, and Africa Augustine and thousands more just like them. And they are children like yours, full of hope. The question is, now will you choose to be Christ dwelling among his people with your life. And if possible, with your checkbook. With your own hands? Your $6 or $26 a month makes a huge difference for breaking the cycle of poverty through something many of us take for granted : L U N C H.
