“Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who you should be?”
This year I had to follow breadcrumbs way way back in the journey to finding myself again. I hope we will all Hansel and Gretl ourselves back home—it’s way to easy to get lost in this loud SHOULD world. We take ourselves so seriously, we forget our lives are so very short, and we hide the very purpose for which God made us because we are afraid of what others think and we are afraid to try.
I have over complicated it too. I have said making people laugh isn’t deep enough or good enough and I have felt that being a business lady is something I should be sheepish about. (Yikes don’t let anyone know you’re thriving in purpose). But I’ll let you guess what I was doing at age 8 or 10: you guessed it … making people laugh on the merry go round and selling rocks and flower seeds to my neighbors. Running my own business, rallying my siblings and neighbor kids to walk with me. I was working for those new kids on the block trading cards and nothing, not even government cheese could stop me. Trading cards don’t go on trees, they’re down the street at the dime store. And you need many dimes. And then the cards will get lost in your hand me down waterbed (gross. It had mirrors for the headboard😂 ) cracks and you’ll find them when said bed leaks from a rogue pencil stab no one will admit to. At age 38 you’ll attribute your bad back to sharing a water bed with 3 sisters. That took a turn … Anyway, What were you doing at age 10 that points to what you do now, or what you wish you were doing more of? It’s a breadcrumb back to you. And I fully intend on talking more about finding YOU And living out your light this year. The world will be so bright if we get out of the shoulds and live in who we were always made to be. ✨🔦
